Some patients are eligible for an NHS funded eye test and a full or partial contribution towards the cost of their prescription glasses prescribed by the optometrist. Such categories include under 16’s, over 60 years of age, diabetics, certain people with a family history of glaucoma, as well as those receiving Income Support, Family Credit, guarantee pension credit and other benefits.
